On 1-2 September 2026, the second Pre-LSDemo Stakeholder Workshop brought together consortium partners, members of the Multi-Stakeholder Forum, policymakers, industry representatives, researchers, and mobility experts from across Europe in Brussels.
Hosted by the Government of Flanders, the workshop marked an important milestone for the Pre-LSDemo project, providing an opportunity to review progress, validate key project outputs, and further develop the foundations for future large-scale demonstrations of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM).
Building on the outcomes of the first stakeholder workshop and the project’s focus group activities, participants engaged in a comprehensive programme of plenary sessions, workshops, breakout discussions, focus groups, and panel exchanges. Discussions focused on societal readiness, co-creation methodologies, evaluation priorities, data requirements, demonstration planning, and the development of tools and frameworks needed to support future CCAM demonstrations at scale.
A defining feature of the workshop was its highly interactive format. Across both days, participants worked in smaller thematic groups dedicated to individual mobility, public transportation, and logistics. Through facilitated discussions, Slido surveys, breakout exercises, and collaborative Miro board sessions, stakeholders actively shared expertise, challenged assumptions, identified priorities, and contributed recommendations. This approach ensured that participants were not only reviewing project results, but directly helping to validate and further develop them!
The diversity of expertise represented at the workshop created a valuable cross-sector exchange. Stakeholders from industry, public authorities, transport operators, research organisations, and user-focused communities contributed perspectives that helped refine key project outputs and strengthen the evidence base for future large-scale demonstrations.
Well beyond the formal programme, the event provided an important platform for networking and collaboration. Participants exchanged experiences, explored common challenges and opportunities, strengthened existing partnerships, and established new connections that will support continued cooperation across Europe’s CCAM ecosystem.
The workshop concluded with a forward-looking panel discussion examining how existing CCAM test beds, proving grounds, and testing ecosystems can support future large-scale demonstrations and help accelerate the path towards operational deployment.

The insights, recommendations, and stakeholder input gathered during these two days will now feed directly into the next stages of the project. Together, they will help shape future large-scale CCAM demonstrations that are scalable, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs of European mobility stakeholders.
