Europe’s Path
Toward Large‑Scale CCAM Deployment
Pre‑LSDemo prepares the essential groundwork for Europe’s future Large‑Scale Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) demonstrations.
The project gathers the most promising and mature CCAM use cases across individual mobility, shared/public transport, and freight, creating a coordinated and cross‑domain foundation for real‑world demonstration projects planned for 2027–2030 and beyond.
Through stakeholder engagement, it also explores the readiness of key enabling technologies, including sensors, V2X communication, digital services, human-machine interaction, and artificial intelligence, which is becoming a pervasive element of CCAM solutions.
Pre‑LSDemo develops a harmonised, integrated demonstration plan for CCAM across Europe.
It embeds societal readiness as a core pillar of future demonstration activities.
The project consolidates evaluation methodologies, test procedures, enabling technologies, and readiness criteria.
A multi‑stakeholder forum ensures co‑creation across industry, authorities, research, operators, and civil society.

Enhancing CCAM Technology
Europe is entering a decisive phase in the development of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM). While numerous pilots exist, large‑scale deployment requires a unified approach that integrates technical, societal, regulatory, infrastructural, and operational dimensions.
Pre‑LSDemo directly supports this ambition by preparing a coordinated European framework for future flagship Large‑Scale CCAM Demonstrations.
The project consolidates insights from the CCAM Partnership, ongoing national and European initiatives, and domain‑specific expertise to create a coherent and scalable concept for demonstrations across the three strategic domains of mobility: individual passenger transport, shared/public transport, and freight/logistics. Its methodologies and tools are designed to support cross‑border interoperability, safety, inclusiveness, and evidence‑based decision‑making.
Pre‑LSDemo places societal readiness at the centre of its work. Through a structured Societal Readiness Framework, extensive stakeholder engagement, and citizen‑focused processes, the project ensures that future CCAM demonstrations reflect societal needs, user expectations, accessibility, fairness, and trust.
The result is a foundation for demonstration activities that are technologically robust and socially aligned.
